hmm?
ulti is best next to his dodge/crit (u know what i mean, same like panda) if enemies buy some creeps too desperate
stompede hero kills rock^^

i skill max. ulti, 2nd main-spell is max. attributes and 3rd is dodge/crit (ofc this can be only done after lvl15...before i go for lvl2 bears)

i rated "-" (=a bit weak), cus untill hes like lvl20 and enemies bought some creeps its very difficult to kill creeps and make gold with him...
idk how to fix that, a bit(!) more str/lvl and a tiny bit(!) more agi/lvl ??

His quilbeasts are good for creeping at a distance and can be useful for trapping enemies in the early game. They are useless later on however so you must retrain and take level 10 dodge/crit and bears.

the creeps can be good in lategame 2 cuz it´s easy 2 sourround the enemie with u´re pets u just have 2 summon them when u´re attacking the enemie

Would be nice to add to quilbeasts a minor slow/poison.

suggestions for beastmaster are:

giving him stun ability, firebolt instead of quillbeasts:
+orcs would have another stunner
+gives btm an active spell with which he can kill other heroes
-maybe overpowered if you stun first and then sorround stunned hero with bears, cant escape because bears have bash... (remove bash of bears then? or weaken bash of bears?)
-quilbests are good for creeping (bears have good damage too, but bears die faster because enemies can focus the melee creeps much easier then his ranged quillbeasts)

another suggestion was giving him the passive bash ability which the MK has...

for dont imbalance the game too much maybe it would also be ok just to give him the stun ability but a bit stronger...you could then(if u have enough skill) stun another heroe and sourround with bears...the stun is kind of random so its not really easy to perform that...but the beastmaster would get a bit more playable...only suggestion;)

Re: Beastmaster

Post  CoolRasta on Tue Feb 09, 2010 6:51 pm

but we keep crit/evasion?

too much passiv

late game => omg
bash works on antimagic shield so no chance with bear and bash stronger than mk
cuz with mk, we (or just me) dont max it and prefer smash ground and bolt then passiv+2
so % isnt hight
but with beast master, all ppl will max it, and with some agi and big %, no chance to teleport i think

and i repeat , for me, he isnt the worst hero,

but we can try at least

Yes firebolt as i said to you a while ago + mk got both bash + stun works fine. Smile
You could perhaps give him less bears so the bash chance isn't that big and they can't surround as good just give them a bit more hp and damage.

instead of inventing new skills, or finding ones that would fit, why not just improve existing skills? i dont think he needs that much balancing, since he gets nice stats per lvl, if played right hes a real beast in lategame (brawler + sword ftw)

Still it's kinda silly with 6 stuns against 4 this would be a nice change to make it a bit more even.

I wouldnt change the skills, come on:
I always play both kind of creeps, just watch out that they dont die and you get lots of creepkills.
Surrounds are easier than with any other hero, 7 spawns with bash and lots of hp + dmg are strong enough that you dont need to change the skills.
Feral Fight and stampede rule for later game, beastmaster becomes BAAAAAAAAMmaster
Leave him as he is, everyone complaining should learn how to play him properly; he is a STR-Hero (with evasion), good creeping and can kill heroes on his own, even easier if you have a mate who stuns.

My opinion on stuns is: some of you count it like 6 stuns @ alliance side and 4 stuns @ horde side. I would count sleep as maybe 0.5 stun, you can't attack the sleeped hero, but it combines well with ultimate, is ranged and sometimes you just need to get around someone and block him with heroes/spawns.
And another stun in my opinion is hex, you aren't completely disabled, but your movement speed is ridicoulously small and it is the only instant, ranged (!) stun.
It is well balanced (sure there should be some fixes, but none of the sides is superior imo (dont count pitlord pls biggrin), get the correct combination of heroes and you win every game, we won often enough with both sides.

cl, dl, tc and sh were the stuns i counted. I wouldn't put pitlord ulti on same level as those.

hmm the stuns were a bit offtopic, but however:

you are right, looked it up again and alliance has like 2 more stuns.

however, my opinion is:
1. you wont use 6 stuns ^^
2. shadow hunter helps even vs 3 or 4 stuns
3. every hero is good, some dont have stuns, e.g. beastie but is still good imo. Same for bloodlord or alchie.

Re: Beastmaster

Post  Ace Ventura on Wed Feb 24, 2010 12:01 pm

i realy would like to give the beastmaster the firebolt...

but i dont know which ability it should replace, i would replace bears because the quilbeasts help a lot with creeping at the start and are not so easy killable by enemies. the feral fight also helps a bit to dodge so he cant be killed so easy and later on it helps to kill heroes with the critical strike.
the bears are just good when they are on higher lvls to surround and maybe kill a hero, mostly you need another stunner or lots of skill and a little bit luck to surround and kill a hero

so what do you think about replacing bears with firebolt??? (you could still surround with quilbeasts)

agreed !

beastmaster without bears isnt really a beastmaster Very Happy ..but anyway i think its still balanced, dont make sense to get one more stun, horde alrady got nice heroes..and beastmaster also nice with bears...(cmon 3 bears with bash)..and y like ace said, its also able to surround with quilbeasts.but they can be killed so easily

bear arent with magic resistance at hight lvl?

cuz anyway, all summon are feed late game (mb put all summon of the game magic resistance at hight lvl)

and 2 summon for 1 hero only is mb too much
and if orc lack of 1 stunner , why not

like i said in ts give the firebolt to a orc hero.
ranged hero would be to imba so thw only 2 possible chooses are beastmaster and pitlord.
imo quillbeasts and bears suck, QB dont do any damage ( its rubbish compared to lava spwan, even with berserc) and on high level they get killed with 3 hits.) Bears are good but also easy to kill...
i would replace firebolt for QB cuz they are complete useless in lategame.

feral fight and ulti really nice^^

Re: Beastmaster

the qbs and bears creep very well in early, beastie has most creepkills quite often or is one of the top creepers and he can surround and kill heroes.
ofc they aren't good in lategame, magic immunity would be a good thing.
but as you know, there is a reskill tome, so you can get stampede, feral fight and stats later and make your beastmaster a beast himself,
if you creeped well, you really rock in lategame evasion and crits are both based on % which is quite powerful, give him a sword and try to kill him then.

at least changes would fuck up all my beastie tactics (which work well [!!!!!]), so imo he should stay almost the same, no major skill changes

well, dont send pigs in front and they wont die so easy. pigs are not meant to go in and brawl in the crowd, corruption orb + focus can easily get u a kill when creeping

Sigh... you don't even need more than the bears to surround... And lets just say a stun would be a lot better than having some fucking quillbeasts.
